Film Star Will Emcee, Perform, and Receive the Olympic Torch at This Year’s World Games

LOS ANGELES, CA – Corey Feldman announced today that he will be the official emcee of the Receipt of the Torch Ceremony at the 2015 Special Olympics at the World Games. The ceremony will be conducted this Friday July 24th in downtown Los Angeles on the steps of city hall. Feldman will be seen standing at the podium to receive the Olympic torch and has also been asked to do a very special performance with his band “Corey’s Angels”. Feldman will also be introducing several of LA’s elite including Mayor Garcetti and the chief of police. As far as his band, this marks only the second time the newly formed band will perform, their first performance being in June at the Bonnaroo Festival.

This is a historical event for Los Angeles and for the world as it is the first time in history that the Special Olympics has been recognized as part of the World Games. Ironically, Corey Feldman performed at the1990 Special Olympics exactly twenty-five years ago. At that time he performed a song which he had just written a few years earlier when he was fifteen years old about making the world a better place.  That song was called “It’s So Simple” and he is planning on performing that song again to commemorate how far we all have come.

When asked for a comment on his performance at this year’s games, Corey Feldman had this to say, “It is truly an honor to be asked to stand on the steps and perform at this historical event. More importantly I’m humbled to honor these tremendous athletes that God has created.”

Corey is expected to perform two songs and attendance of the event is open to the public. Corey and his Angels will soon do a world tour to promote his forthcoming Album “Angelic 2 The Core”.

Feldman appeared with Corey Haim in The Lost Boys, marking the first on-screen pairing of

what became known as “The Two Coreys.” The pair went on to star in a string of films,

including License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream.

Corey began singing at the early age of three while auditioning in order to gain roles in his film

career. However, his true music career began with his first single released on vinyl in 1989 for

the film soundtrack for Dream a Little Dream. The song was called “Something In Your Eyes”

and Corey is planning on dusting it off and playing it live for the first time in his adult career. In

1994 Corey released his first solo album entitled Love Left which featured music from the film

Dream a Little Dream 2. He has since released two other solo albums and is now preparing for a

double album of new material centered around the Corey’s Angels brand. His new album

“Angelic 2 The Core”, featuring appearances by Doc Ice, Kaya Jones, Fred Durst and Snoop

This is the first perfomance with the full line up scheduled and announced at this time, however

there are a few small performances with DJ AC that includes May 30th in Akron, Ohio and the

end of August in Pennsylvania. Corey will be performing the music from the “1st Glimpse of

Heaven” EP as well as select songs from the fourth coming album ‘Angelic To The Core” and

classics from his film soundtracks and past albums, including “Something In Your Eyes” and

“What’s Up With The Youth” which have never been performed live. All of the music from

Corey’s Angels is released under Feldman’s Record Label CiFi Records, which has released five

prior albums since it’s inception.

Currently Corey’s Angels is solely photographed by Michael Vincent at his studio and all of the

shoots are produced at The Michael Vincent Academy (MVLA).
